Also like others pointed out another reason Dogs of War getting released as a pre-order bonus for WH:WH3 (or something of the like) is more likely is because they have ogre units in their roster as well.Click here to set your flair! Welcome to /r/TotalWar!Ī subreddit for all of those who love the Total War series. I predicted both the Tomb Kings and Vampire Coast as DLC factions for TW:WH2 and due to all the reasons listed above I would put my money on Araby being released as the next DLC faction.Įdit: I meant an army book, not tabletop. Around this time, after TW:WH3 is released and most development on CA's Warhammer franchise will be done, we are most likely to see a Dogs of War faction (or any other faction that might be leftover for that matter) get released as DLC. When this happens Kislev will certainly be released as a playable faction for TW:WH1 and the Mortal Empires campaign. We pretty much know from leaks and from what detailed lore is left that the next game will be set on the other side of the Worlds Edge Mountains and feature Kislev, Ogre Kingdoms, Daemons of Chaos and Chaos Dwarfs as the 4 main factions. Currently the land that would normally be occupied by the Araby faction is also filled with Bretonnian placeholders, what a coincidence! I have no doubt that these 'crusader' factions will either be removed by CA entirely when Araby gets released or simply be kept as a campaign objective for Araby players to conquer and remove themselves. What's more, CA has a habit of leaving factions that they will one day update (or rather release as DLC) as useless placeholders. This also makes sense in game because right now the only major faction in the southern Badlands are the Tomb Kings and adding another major faction to that area would certainly spice things up and fill a gap in the map (much like the Vampire Coast will do to north-eastern Lustria).
The only faction that meets both the criteria of being on tabletop and also appearing in the map of the Eye of the Vortex campaign (now that Tomb Kings and Vampire Coast are already in the game) is Araby. This means that it won't be Kislev, the Southern Realms or Dogs of War, despite how much fans might clamor for it.ĬA also said they want every army that appeared on tabletop in their Warhammer games eventually. How can we deduce this? First off, what is very important is that whatever faction it will be has to be located on the map of the Eye of the Vortex campaign, the main campaign for TW:WH2. "If a new faction is going to get released as DLC for Total War: Warhammer II it will be Araby.
